LA ROCHE POSAY UVMUNE 400 FLUID VS MOISTURIZING CREAM
Hi guys, in today’s blog, I want to create a quick comparison of the 2 new sunscreens by La Roche Posay, Anthelious UVMUNE 400 Moisturizing cream, and Invisible Fluid. Hopefully, this blog will help you out with choosing the one that will best suit your skin type.
These are both new and have the UV filter Mexoryl 400 included.
They have a total of 8 matching UV filters:
Tinosorb S (Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine),
Uvinyl T 150 (Ethylhexyl Triazone),
Avobenzone (Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane),
Mexoryl 400 (Methoxypropylamino Cyclohexenylidene Ethoxyethylcyanoacetate),
Uvinyl A Plus (Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate),
Mexoryl XL (Drometrizole Trisiloxane),
Mexoryl SX (Terephthalylidene Dicamphor Sulfonic Acid)
In comparison to the old versions of these same sunscreens, the new versions have 2 more UV filters added. Uvinyl A Plus and Mexoryl 400. These both offer high UVA protection, but Mexoryl 400 in particular covers the 380nm to 400nm gap (ultra-long UVA rays), where most UV filters fail.
So both of these sunscreens offer the highest possible UVA protection achieved to this day. Now let’s see how they feel on the skin.
EFFECT ON THE SKIN
La Roche Posay Fluid: It’s liquid, lightweight, and absorbs quickly leaving your skin glowy. Layers well, no peeling not balling up, and the second layer gives you even more glow. This sunscreen will be great for people with normal/oily skin types. Plus it has no comedogenic ingredients, so even acne-prone skin types can use it. Watch the demo application down below.
La Roche Posay Moisturizing Cream: This one is definitely heavier than the fluid, it takes more time to spread it and blend it properly, but it still leaves no white cast and gives you a glowy finish. I would say that the glow isn’t that overwhelming. It layers well, it doesn’t peel nor does it ball up, but the second layer gives you a more intense glow and that is when it starts looking a little bit too shiny, I won’t say greasy, but it is shiny. So this one is definitely more emollient and will be a good fit for people who have dry skin. It still has no comedogenic ingredients just like the fluid, but because it is much more emollient than the Fluid, I would recommend this one only to people who have dry skin. Watch the demo application down below.
FINAL VERDICT
These are both amazing sunscreens that offer amazing UVA protection, and dare I say that these are the best sunscreens of 2022 because they offer the highest possible UVA protection achieved to this day.
Protection-wise, you are not going to make a mistake by choosing any one of these, just choose based on your skin type. If you have dry skin, get the moisturizing cream, if you have more normal to oily skin then choose the fluid protection.
And that’s it! Thank you for reading!
