BEST KOREAN SUNSCREENS 2022 FOR EVERY SKIN TYPE: Dry, Oily, Normal, Sensitive, Lightweight Texture

Hi guys! In today’s blog, I want to share with you the best Korean sunscreens that I’ve tried in 2022!

Before I start talking about sunscreens I have to share a new discovery of mine with you guys, I’ve discovered this is 2022 so it’s convenient to include it in this Blog. If you are struggling with applying sunscreen evenly, I have a solution for you.

Behold, a compact mirror that has a built-in UV camera in it. This is Sunscreen Coverage Reveal UV Magic Mirror by L&L, a Japanese company. One side has a UV test camera that reveals sunscreen coverage and the other side has a LED light mirror with 3 brightness modes. So if you are not sure if you have applied your sunscreen evenly, you want to cover all the spots correctly, this gadget can be very handy. You can also use it when removing sunscreen in the evening, and check if you removed everything properly.

Ok now let’s start with the first sunscreen.

Gilla8 Tee Tree Cica Extra Calming Sun Cream SPF50 PA++++

Actives: Niacinamide and Tranexamic Acid, both have skin-brightening properties. It also has Centella Asiatica Extract.

It does have a lot of skin soothing plant extracts, so thus the “calming” claim in the name.

Sensor characteristics: It comes out thick but it’s lightweight and fast absorbing, and it gives you a dewy finish and moisturizes the skin really well. Again it’s a 2in1 moisturizer and a sunscreen. No white cast.

Skin types: Normal/Dry/Oily, if you have oily skin you can easily mattify the shine with some face powder.

SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu Cica Water Fit Sun Serum SPF 50 PA++++

Actives: Niacinamide, Centella Asiatica, Glycerin, Low Medium, and High Molecular Hyaluronic Acid

Sensor characteristics: Again light-weight, easily spreadable, very moisturizing, leaves a glowy/dewy finish but it’s not shiny, and also gives no white cast. Again it’s a 2in1 sunscreen and a moisturizer, it feels like a regular moisturizer.

Skin types: Normal/Dry

Thank You Farmer Sun Project Skin Relief Sun Cream SPF 50 PA++++

Actives: Niacinamide (skin brightening, anti-aging), Centella Asiatica (soothing), Glycerin (hydrating/moisturizing), Licorice Root (skin brightening)

Sensor characteristics: Again super lightweight, spreads out easily, fast absorbing, feels like you are applying a regular moisturizer, gives a dewy finish but it’s not sticky, not greasy, and it leaves no white cast. It’s not as moisturizing as SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella, probably because it does not have HA, after a while, my skin felt matt so because of that I am recommending it to people who have normal and oily skin.

Skin types: Normal/Oily skin

Make P:rem UV Defense Me: Daily Sun Essence SPF50 PA++++

Actives: Glycerin, some Soothing Plant Extracts, and Antioxidants and that’s pretty much it.

Sensor Characteristics: I love it because of the sensor characteristic and the finish on the skin. Again light-weight, moisturizing and gives a very subtle glow. Absorbs after a while and feels as if you have nothing on your skin but a light moisturizer. It’s neither sticky nor greasy. Since the colder days started, this one is not moisturizing enough for my dry skin, so I definitely recommend it even to people who have oily skin.

Skin types: Normal/Oily skin

Beauty of Joseon- Relief Sun: Rice and Probiotics SPF50 PA++++

Actives: Niacinamide, Glycerin, Rice Extract, Probiotics (good for skin barrier), suitable for sensitive skin.

Sensor Characteristics: Similar to Madagascar Centella Skin1004. Lightweight and moisturizing, it gives a subtle glow. It’s a 2in1 moisturizer and a sunscreen. It’s neither sticky nor greasy. In winter, I need something more moisturizing. It’s not enough. So even if you have oily skin, I think you are going to love this one. I can recommend this one to all skin types.

Skin types: Normal/Oily/Sensitive (because of the probiotics)

Isntree- Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel SPF50 PA++++

Actives: Niacinamide, Centella Asiatica, Ceramide NP, Glycerin, 8 types of Hyaluronic Acid

Based on the ingredients this one should be the best for dry skin types as well.

Sensor Characteristics: This one comes out as cream but turns to water consistency once you start spreading it. This one is the most light-weight sunscreen I’ve tried. It feels as if I am spreading water on my face. I don’t know how they managed to do this.

So again it’s very light-weight, moisturizing, and gives a more intense glow than the previous two sunscreens that I mentioned, but it’s neither sticky nor greasy. I don’t mind the glow because I have dry skin, but even if you have oily skin know that this is not greasy and you can easily get rid of the glow with some mattifying powder. Again I would say that you can use this one as well as a 2in1 moisturizer and a sunscreen, but since it’s not heavy I can easily recommend this even to people who have oily skin.
